Required Lights and reflectors on Equipment Trailers and Car Trailers in Florida and other states

This article covers the typical car trailer or equipment trailer between 16 and 26 feet long.
Equipment and Car trailers are almost always over 80″ Wide, over all. Here are the rules. Tail Lights must be at the farthest point outside on both sides of the trailer. The rear red marker and the Amber forward markers must be within 3″ of the widest point of the trailer. Amber reflectors are required in the front side of the flatbed trailer unless reflective DOT tape is being used. Tampa’s Bigfoot Trailers uses both. A three light marker must be installed on the center rear of the trailer. A tag light must be installed.
